a little bit of JOY for mother's day April 26 2025
i am so glad that i devoted myself to the 100 day project. there is something special in knowing that others are also committing to this daily practice.
it makes me feel like i am a part of something much bigger than me, and i love to imagine other people’s rituals. i delight in the routine and find great satisfaction in seeing it through, staying the course. i relish all aspects of this project: planning and sketching, prepping my materials, and then knowing that there is a like-minded community devoting a little time each day to being creative. i have stitched over 60 wool felt flower pins since the project began in february. this is the perfect way to use my cherished plant-dyed wool felt scraps. i made a few extra flower pins for my shop, an unplanned flower pin free sewing tutorial, and a little kit to make your own flowers just in time for mother’s day.
working on these flowers bring me so much joy. speaking of JOY, that is my mom’s name and i will be gifting her a flower for mother’s day. if you would like to experience the joy of stitching your own flowers for someone you love, i have plant-dyed wool felt in my shop in 4” square bundles, a big bag of scraps, and a little flower scrap bag in a palette chosen with flowers in mind (also includes 2 collarless safety pins and a card with a link to the unplanned flower pin free sewing tutorial).
the gift of a flower - this one will last as the seasons change.
this is the time i think about all the great women i admire, many i don’t know personally but appreciate so much. you will find lots of thoughtful handmade gifts in my shop that are perfect for any inspiring, nurturing, compassionate, and strong women in your life.
the last day to order for mother’s day is saturday, may 3.
my collection of over 50 free sewing tutorials is filled with gift ideas... happy stitching!
PS: myra fell asleep in the fabric that i was prepping to dye.
