spring plant-dyed treasure box for the stitcher

$ 45.00

This treasure box is a celebration of Spring!

Planting, harvesting, dyeing, curating, stitching, and assembling these treasure boxes is such a pleasure. So much care and consideration goes into each material that is tucked into these boxes. It is a slow and thoughtful process, and I feel such kinship and connection to those who appreciate and delight in the contents.

The fabric, felt, and silk ribbon in this treasure box is an exploration of flowers from my dye garden. I played with different additions to the dye pot from Botanical Colors. I love the subtle difference in the palettes and the different moods they inspire.

Each sturdy 4.5 x 4.5 x 2" cardboard matchbox-style box is covered in a plant-dyed 5 ounce cotton/hemp muslin patchwork piece with a removable felt flower pin attached in the corner. The materials included in the treasure box can be used to make the same patchwork quilt and flower on the cover. The colors of fabric, felt, and silk ribbon in each box vary slightly, but the color scheme is the same. You will also find three spools of silk ribbon (1 large spool and 2 small spools in distinct and varied colors) and an instruction booklet to make cordage.

This treasure box lends itself to small, patchwork projects and meaningful decorations like ornaments and amulets. You can look at my collection of free sewing tutorials for inspiration. I hope you can feel the love and care that is bundled up in every box.
